Perth, Australia is announcing a global centre of research, development, construction and education to accelerate the global development of microgrids. Its official launch will occur on 13-May-2021 (*new date - moved from 29-April-2021 due to WA venue limits) in Perth, Western Australia.
The Australian Microgrid Centre of Excellence (AMCOE) is a not-for-profit organization which intends to develop a physical facility that provides resources enabling the development and implementation of reliable, economic and sustainable energy solutions. It will also act as an inclusive centre of activity and coordination for the many organizations (public, private, commercial, non-profit, and academic) in Australia, and globally, that are addressing distributed or remote energy issues.
The newly formed centre was founded by many companies, including Magellan Power, Infranomics, Regional Development Australia, Lithium Valley, Dassault Systems, General Microgrids, South Metropolitan TAFE, Murdoch University, Arnowa, Edith Cowan University, National Energy Resources Australia, Australia Ocean Energy Group and many others. It includes a growing coalition of members of the local and global microgrid value chain.
The event sponsors include NERA (National Energy Resources Australia), Magellan Power, Bedivere Group and Dassault Systems.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
