Wikipedia is the 5th most visited website in the world. But did you
know that ONLY 17% OF WIKIPEDIA’S BIOS were ABOUT WOMEN? Part of the
reason is simple: more than 80% of Wikipedia contributors
are...men.Take an example: the computer programmers category lists 180
profiles, of whom fewer than 10 are women. But history hasn’t been
documented well: a lot of women have contributed to shaping the
internet as we know it today.
ON 13 OCTOBER 2018, BECENTRAL WILL BE HOSTING A FULL DAY EDIT-A-THON
TO DOCUMENT WIKIPEDIA WITH WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY.
_Are they any requirements to attend the event?_
Absolutely not!
Most of us never edited wikipedia before so we will take you through
all the steps. You don’t need experience, nor knowledge on the
theme.
_What will you do?_
You will be able to help in a few different ways:

Add citations or content to existing articles

9h30 – 10h00: Registrations
10h00 -11h00: Tutorial on how to edit wikipedia
10h30 - 12h30: Documenting
Lunch Break
13h30 - 16h30: Documenting
16h30 - 18h00 : Closing session and networking drinks.
_What should you bring?_
You will need to come with your own laptop.
