At the NSCC AKERLEY CAMPUS WE KNOW IT’s important for students to
understand the connection between where our food comes from and how it
gets on our plates.Five years ago, we started a culinary garden on
campus – to show students how to grow food from seeds, to taste
fresh ingredients and to appreciate the work that goes into growing
our own food. Our Harvest Dinner is a celebration of learning, growth,
gardening and enjoying healthy, local food and drink together.
Each course is carefully paired with a Nova Scotia wine or cocktail.
Cocktails feature student-made gins and will be created on-site with
freshly harvested garden herbs.
Join chef Johnathan Canning and the NSCC Akerley culinary arts faculty
as they take us from seed to plate in our annual culinary garden
Harvest Dinner. 100% of proceeds go back into the garden program.
