The museum hosts an exciting programme of over 20 temporary exhibitions a year. The permanent displays include objects from the Social History and Fine Art collections. There is also a recently refurbished permanent display on local writer George Eliot.
The museum offers a range of family activities throughout the year from museum trails and worksheets to creative activities during school holidays. Many of the temporary and permanent exhibitions contain interactive learning and creative elements for all age groups.
The museum is actively involved with the local community through outreach projects. This can include using our collection to inspire reminiscence sessions, gather oral history and participate in local history projects by working in partnership with local groups and volunteers.
