ABERDEEN CITY HERITAGE TRUST IS DELIGHTED TO PRESENT THIS FREE EVENT FOR THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR, own, live in, or are interested in TENEMENTS OR TRADITIONAL PRE-1919 BUILDINGS. Regular building maintenance provides the best means of ensuring that traditionally constructed buildings perform at their best. Come and find out more about the history of the Aberdeen Tenement and pick up some useful advice about traditional building maintenance. LOCATION: Carmelite Hotel Library. PROGRAMME: * 7.15pm Arrival and refreshments * 7.30pm The Aberdeen Tenement- James Roy, Architect * 8.15pm Maintaining traditionally constructed property, Craig Wilson, RGU * 8.45pm Q&A * 9.00pm Finish OUR SPEAKERS: JAMES ROY, CONSERVATION ACCREDITED ARCHITECT James is a Director of Aberdeen City Heritage Trust and has a career that has included researching and working on many traditionally constructed buildings. James presentation will take in the history of development of the Aberdeen Tenement and highlight a range of maintenance issues often found on this common traditional building type. CRAIG WILSON, ROBERT GORDON UNIVERSITY Craig is a Director of Aberdeen City Heritage Trust and lectures in Building Surveying at Robert Gordon University. He has a particular interest in built heritage and has held a number of trustee and committee roles in the heritage sector across the UK. Craig's presentation will focus on maintenance considerations on traditionally constructed pre-1919 building stock. Programme may be subject to change
