Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Psi Omega Chapter & RPO, Inc.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University and is the oldest Greek-lettered organization founded by African American college-educated women. Today, Alpha Kappa Alpha is comprised of over 260,000 women in over 400 undergraduate and graduate chapters around the world that focus on economic security, global poverty, health, and social justice as part of their community service programming. Rho Psi Omega Chapter was founded in 1989 and is a graduate chapter of over 200 professional women in the Charlotte area who seek to provide volunteer and financial support to organizations and programs that align with the international mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. RPO, Inc. was organized in 1999 as a non-profit organization to expand the community service and philanthropic efforts of the Rho Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Since its founding, the organization has been committed to providing services and programs to help improve the community and to promote the involvement of its members in sustainable civic and charitable efforts.
