Leader of the Pack... Beth BowersCertified Master Pet Tech™ Instructor A local veterinarian in Plano is credited to sparking Beth's passion for animals when she was only 8 years old. At the age of only 11 years old, she started her first pet sitting business in her apartment complex. Her passion for animals never faded and from 16 on, she has been working as a veterinary technician and nursing her passion for dog behavior. For the last 5 years Beth stood as the Operations Manager and Training Director for The Dog Lofts (on Oak Lawn), a Boarding, Daycare, Grooming, and Training facility for CityVet Companies. Beth joined Pet Tech in 2007 and to this date is the longest standing active Pet Tech Instructor in the DFW area. She has spoken to thousands and educated almost 500 Pet Parents, Pet Care Professionals over the last 8 years earning her the coveted Certified Master Instructor title, making her one of only 13 Master Instructors in the country! In addition to the internationally recognized PetSaver™: Pet CPR, First Aid & Care For Your Pets Seminar, created by Pet Tech, she herself has added many seminars to her curriculum. Some of those include Dogs 101, Dog Behavior 101, Home Emergency & Disaster Preparedness For Your Pets, and Pet Tech's Knowing Your Pet's Health and Hiking & Walking with Your Pets: How to Have Fun & Be Safe on the Trails! Before joining CityVet Companies, Beth served as an Emergency Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Nurse throughout Dallas and Houston from 1998 - 2009 when she transitioned her career to Management. In 2010, Beth was the General Manager and Training Director at Unleashed Indoor Dog Parks, the nation's first and only indoor dog park.  Prior to Unleashed, Beth was a Veterinary Technician at Abrams Forest Veterinary Clinic in Dallas and managed a dog daycare facility in Plano. She has also served as an active volunteer at Operation Kindness, the largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas and is active amongst countless rescues in Dallas and even teaches a Fostering 101 Seminar for those that are curious about becoming a foster, but have concerns and questions. Before he passed, she and her soulmutt Burt were a certified Therapy Dog Team with Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs and Therapy Dogs Inc. They visited schools and libraries where children that struggle with literacy challenges read to him in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. Burt was lost tragically in an accident in 2013, but his spirit still lives on in Beth and her newest demo dogs Ernie and Potato spreading empowering education! Beth lives to improve the lives of all animals through education. Dallas Pet CPR & First Aid along with Power To The PawZ Pet Services & Education have grown rapidly over the last few years and she now networks with many sitters, veterinarians, rescues, and other businesses in the area to help to enrich her ongoing quest for knowledge in the animal industry.
