Brooklyn Theatre is the first classical music and drama theatre based in Pretoria, Gauteng. Brooklyn Theatre is managed by Salon Music as a unique concert and conference venue, this venue is the only Steinway and Sons venue in Gauteng. The 400 seat auditorium boasts excellent acoustics, raked seating, stylish interior decorating and state of the art equipment. Every seat has an excellent view of the stage which makes the venue suitable for very intimate as well as large scale classical concerts, recitals, operas and theatrical productions. The pride and joy of Brooklyn Theatre is a brand new Steinway & Sons Model D concert grand piano which is used for performances and recordings. The theatre can be hired by outside parties and production houses for Classical concerts, World Music and Jazz as well as dramatic productions. Please note that an 85 decibel limit is enforced in accordance with the Health and Safety Laws of South Africa. Intermezzo Restaurant at Brooklyn Theatre was launched on February 2013, this restaurant offers concert goers traditional hospitality by means of a Theatre Table (Dish up and weigh) before concerts. Patrons can enjoy liquid refreshments before concerts and during intervals in the foyer and on the patio. Intermezzo operates from Tuesdays to Sundays offering daily breakfast, lunch, High Tea, Cocktails, coffee and cake. The Brooklyn Theatre is managed by Salon Music, committed to the cultural enrichment of the SA society. All ventures within this theatre aim to fulfil the ideals established and kept by Salon Music since 1994. This includes job creation for SA classical musicians and singers and maintaining excellence in musical performance. Funds generated from conferences and corporate events aid to assist sponsoring a variety of artistic endeavours within this venue.
