FOLK ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL   Since 1989, FAI has provided advocacy, support, networking, showcase opportunities and professional development services for the international folk music community. Its mission is to nurture, engage and empower the international folk music community — traditional and contemporary, amateur and professional — through education, advocacy, and performance.   With more than 3000 members the annual conference is the world's largest gathering of the folk music industry and community. Members of FAI include individuals, organizations, and businesses. The conference draws over 2500 artists, presenters, agents, managers, music support services reps, manufacturers, record companies, publishers, radio DJs, funders and others that work in the folk music field. FAI has five regional affiliates that provide conferences and services in their respective markets. FAI is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Kansas City, MO.
