 At HESSPEA Plant-Based Cooking & Hospitality our mission is to create a culturally immersive cooking & dining experience by promoting a plant-based lifestyle. Our classes groove and listen to the music that connects us to the food; Reggae, World Music, African, Caribbean, Afro-Cuban, and Afro-Brazilian Rhythm, and are focused on culture and history intended for your education and enjoyment.​   Each meal is a creative fusion inspired by the beautiful regions of Africa, Caribbean, South America and the American South. We start with the freshest ingredients (organic when possible), using seasonal fresh fruit, leafy greens & vegetables. Meals also incorporate whole grains, pasta, beans, peas, rice, lentils, sweet potatoes & corn. After we cook all of that wonderful food we'll enjoy an eclectic and comfortable dining experience.    Because many of the cooking practices throughout these regions have been passed down through oral traditions from one generation to the next; the ingredients and measurements can sometimes be without record. With this in mind our cooking classes often prepare meals without the use of measuring cups or written recipes. This helps you to enjoy the journey with less precision and more intuition. Alterations to original dishes can create new flavors that still retain the cultural significance of the dish according to the folklore of a modest community.
