Lehighton Downtown Initiative- LDI

Vision Statement Business, government and community working together to enhance the vitality of the downtown for the benefit of the Lehighton community. Goals 1.Encourage more effective cooperation, communication and collaboration between downtown businesses, government entities and the Lehighton community on issues related to downtown. 2.Develop opportunities for the promotion of the downtown through events and marketing. 3.Advocate for the interests and betterment of the downtown business community. 4.Serve as the lead organization for information, advocacy and discussion on issues related to downtown. 5.Encourage development and revitalization activities downtown. 6.Connect with the community. Objectives 1.Identify and prioritize current downtown issues relating to committee goals and develop solutions to those issues. 2.Serve as an ongoing advisory group to the Borough of Lehighton regarding its downtown revitalization efforts. 3.Educate downtown property owners about related issues and activities. 4.Educate downtown property owners about available public programs intended to encourage the improvement of downtown properties. 5.Identify potential marketing opportunities for the downtown. 6.Identify partnerships and opportunities to facilitate events that promote the downtown. 7.Identify and support potential multi-use development opportunities.
