Specialties We are a community gathering space featuring unique wines by the glass or bottle; along with craft beer, artisan coffee, cheeses, small plates, confections and desserts.Located in the heart of historic downtown Troy, at Nº 12 Second Street, our venue is a tribute to the City of Troy's role in the Industrial Era as the interior showcases historic steel, vintage wood, and classic TROY bricks on display. The Confectionery hopes to become your "third place"- a comfortable gathering space separate from your two usual social environments of either work or home. History Established in 1863 Nº 12 Second Street was constructed in the 1790s.  It is known to be one of the oldest buildings still standing in the Monument Square section of Troy.In 1863, Austrian immigrant Charles F. Lucas opens up the Confectionery,  seven years after arriving in America.Popular candy products were produced at the Confectionery, as well as some intricately designed candy houses, including the sugar castle on display at the Rensselaer County Historical Society.Charles F. Lucas quickly grew his confectionery business to include a catering and a family-friendly restaurant, and the building expanded  in 1870 as "Charles F. Lucas Confectionery & Ladies Restaurant".In 1951, the Confectionery closed after an 88-year run, and the space was renovated to make way for Troy Insurance Agency, who operated at Nº 12 Second for the next 48 years. In 2012, The Charles F. Lucas Confectionery re-opens as a wine bar & coffee house.
