Prairie Winds Nature Farm

Hi, we are Charlotte and Robert Wolfe. We have been managing 85 acres of former row crop land since 1992. 20 acres is in fenced pastures for rotational grazing, and 65 is in native prairie, wetland, and woods for wildlife and pollinator habitat.   We graze horses & livestock including heritage breeds, and sell small amounts of eggs, honey, vegetables, fruit, and meat directly to consumers. We host visitor groups and offer 4-5 weeks of day camp every summer for kids. We're interested in permaculture and enjoy having interns help out with all of our projects.   Our farm is located in Lakeville, Indiana 7 miles south of South Bend. We are a working educational farm hosting visitors since 2003; with 501(c) 3 status under the IRS since April 2016.  We offer visitor experiences and farm products in a relaxed, family environment: a chance to reconnect with nature and the sources of our food. All donations above the cost of camp are tax deductible and will be applied toward our scholarship fund so that children who cannot afford camp can attend. Please consider sponsoring a low income child and/or offering transportation.
