Seraphine Collective

Seraphine Collective is an inclusive, supportive and active community of female-identified musicians and artists designed to foster creative expression and camaraderie among feminists in Detroit. A recipient of the 2016 Knight Arts Challenge, Seraphine plans to build feminist community and combat the underrepresentation of women in the Detroit electronic music scene. We provide affordable and accessible means for women-identified aspiring DJs to learn the foundations of record mixing on top-quality gear, in a supportive, low-pressure and collaborative environment. Additionally, Seraphine Collective hosts regular concerts/performances highlighting female-identified/PoC/LGBTQ musicians and performers of various genres at a variety of local venues, in addition to producing a quarterly zine and releasing mixtapes.
