Located on the campus of Queensborough Community College CUNY, the KHRCA officially launched in 1983, as a research and teaching project of the QCC history department. Today, the Center has its own 9,000 square-foot building with permanent and rotating exhibition spaces, a 6,000 volume library, and a collection of hundreds of artifacts and archival materials related to the experiences of local Holocaust survivors and their descendants.
The mission of the KHRCA is to use the lessons of the Holocaust to educate current and future generations about the ramifications of unbridled prejudice, racism and stereotyping. Each year the Center offers a wide array of rich public programs and special events to support our mission.
