The Servant Center’s mission is to empower the homeless and disabled, particularly Veterans, to become independent, contributing members of our community through housing, healthcare and restorative services. The Servant Center accomplishes this mission through its four programs: (1) Servant House is a 21-bed transitional housing respite facility for homeless men, with a preference for veterans, who have significant medical and/or mental health disabilities; (2) Glenwood and Haworth Houses includes 17 apartments with supportive services for homeless, disabled individuals, primarily Veterans; (3) the AmeriCorps Partnership to End Homelessness Program provides 28 members to 7 agencies whom provide 25,000+ hours of direct service to individuals and families who are at-risk for or are experiencing homelessness or who have hunger insecurity; and (4) the Disability Assistance Program assists un- and under-insured individuals apply for SSI/SSDI benefits.  SOAR (SSI/SSDI, Outreach, Access, and Recovery) is a component of the Disability Assistance Program that focuses on providing intensive assistance to homeless individuals in applying for SSI/SSDI benefits.
