Valerie English Cooper

Valerie English Cooper is Community Educator (Litchfield County) and Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Mental Health Connecticut (MHC), a nonprofit organization providing direct service, advocacy, and education; and whose mission is to improve mental health for all Connecticut residents. A biochemist, Valerie built the Cardiovascular Marketing Division of Bayer US then founded a successful medical communications company based in New Haven. Valerie sold her company to address the needs of family members with medical and mental health challenges. She built an ADHD Coaching practice and began work towards a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at Harvard University before joining MHC to execute SAMHSA’s (the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) “Now is the Time” Project AWARE Community Grant to saturate Litchfield County with free Mental Health First Aid Training.
