On May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, the National Pan-Hellenic Council was formed as a permanent organization with the following charter members: Omega Psi Phi and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities, and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta SigmaTheta and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities. In 1931, Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi
Beta Sigma Fraternities joined the Council. Sigma Gamma RhoSorority joined in 1937 and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity completed the listof member organizations in 1997.
The stated purpose and mission of the organization in 1930 was “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.”
On May 2, 1992 the Westchester / Rockland Chapter of the National Pan Hellenic Council was founded.

Youth Activity Day On Saturday, April 22nd, The Pan Hellenic Council sponsored a Youth Fitness/Health Expo at RJ Bailey School in White Plains, NY.
Mixer The Annual Mixer which will take place on took place on Friday May 4th at the Stone Manor in Hawthorne, NY
Black Scholars. This event took place on Sunday, June 4, 2016. This group honors African American High School seniors wit a B average or better. The council donated $500 and several members served on the committee and volunteered on the day of the event
