The father and son creative team of bassist Daniel Parenti and drummer Luca Parenti celebrate the kaleidoscopic musical world of composer Henry Mancini in this large ensemble tribute concert. The performance includes highlights from Mancini’s iconic scores for film and television, including The Pink Panther series, Charade, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Days of Wine and Roses, Peter Gunn, and Newhart.
Jazzschool faculty member Daniel Lucca Parenti, a Bay Area native, is a bassist, producer, arranger, filmmaker, and educator active in the music industry for nearly three decades. He has made a name for himself as a formidable bassist and has performed with legends such as Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Sheila E, Pete Escovedo, and Mindi Abair. With his 17-year-old son Luca on drums, he directs the Luca & Lucca Orchestra which features more than a dozen leading lights of the Bay Area music scene (and several other beloved Jazzschool instructors!).
