DCA/PERF presents the second annual Language of the Cosmos

THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS (DCA) PERFORMING ARTS DIVISION (PERF) PRESENTS THE SECOND ANNUAL _LANGUAGE OF THE COSMOS_ , a three-day exhibition of performances, multi-media installations, and community workshops inspired by the wonders, sounds, and visuals of the universe. _Language of the Cosmos_ welcomes nine commissioned artists and youth development organizations to share their work and knowledge at TAXCO THEATRE in CANOGA PARK—a neighborhood with a long history of supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space program._Language of the Cosmos_ celebrates the intersection of art and science through a partnership with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The nine artists and organizations include: MAYA BILLIG , RICHARD CABRAL , MASHA DOWELL , INFINITE FLOW DANCE , REGINALD B. MCKINLEY, II , BETH PETERSON , GABRIEL SPERA , AMIR WHITAKER , ZAWADI CULTURAL COLLECTIVE . JPL was founded in 1936 and has a rich history of encouraging, cultivating, and nurturing artists. NASA JPL’s scientific exploration of the Earth, solar system, and beyond has served as a resource for artists to unlock creativity and communicate the inspiration of science through nonconventional methods.
