Berkeley Baroque Strings is pleased to participate in the Berkeley Music Festival and Exhibition Fringe concerts with a program celebrating the works of George Frideric Handel. Bay Area resident Arthur Omura is the featured guest soloist, performing the Organ Concerto in B-flat. "Da tempeste il legno infranto" (The wood battered by the storm) from Giulio Cesare highlights soprano Caroline Jou Armitage. Tenor Barrie Cowan will perform "Waft her, angels, through the skies” from Jephtha. Concerto Grosso in F Major, op. 6, no. 9, and Concerto Grosso in B Minor, op.6, no. 12, along with selections from the popular Water Music, are also on the program.
Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, longtime member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Cantata Collective, and New Esterhazy Quartet, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.
