FPC Monrovia Choir

We seek to grow and learn as musicians, sing the praises of our Lord, worship, and enjoy our time together in musical fellowship. Our worship style is a blend of both traditional choir-lead hymns, and modern praise songs lead by our Praise Band. Our intent is to provide a place where all generations can come and experience the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. We like to mix it up which is why you will hear the Praise Team leading the music as well as the Chancel Choir. We often feature guest artists, and special music befitting holidays and events. From renaissance motets, to gospel, to contemporary choral arrangements, you will always find music that will enhance your worship experience. Our hope is that this becomes a place where you feel at home and feel comfortable bringing your family and friends. There is no dress code. Most people dress casually reflecting our Southern California lifestyle. We want to be a place that truly allows every member and guest to Belong, Grow, Serve, and Celebrate Jesus Christ together! The Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian Church meets on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings. We sing a diverse repertoire of music--always with the intent of creating a satisfying musical experience and to have fun doing so. The choir is directed by Music Director David Michael Layne, a well known published composer, and is accompanied on piano and pipe organ by Eunyoung Sohng.
