East Bay Square Dance with live music by Round Top Stringband

Get ready for square dancing with caller Connor Maguire! Live music by Round Top Stringband!

No experience necessary; no partner necessary. Kids welcome. The caller teaches each dance right before we dance it.

Doors open: 7:30 pm
Square-dance swing workshop: 7:45-8:00 pm
Square dancing: 8:00-10:00 pm

Everyone is invited to the square-dance swing workshop with Martha Soule-Fahey at 7:45. Martha will explain what to do when you hear "swing your partner!" A good swing is a wonderful thing.

This is a queer-friendly event. Role-switching is encouraged. The caller uses the terms "ladies" and "gents" to refer to the dance roles; anyone may dance in these roles.

Wear dance shoes if you have them! No stiletto heels allowed.

BYOB: You may bring beer and wine. No hard alcohol allowed. Bring your water bottles!

This is a traditional or old-time square dance (not a modern or club dance). All dancers are welcome.
