Event ended

Since 2018, the cities of Saint-Denis (Paris, France) and Oakland have been at the core of rich

and active cultural exchange project . The two cities are asserting their social and artistic

influence and inventing new solutions to the challenges of inequity and accelerated urban

development that metropolises are facing. Together, they represent a new form of international

cooperation between cities living on the margins of more iconic and affluent cities.

Join visiting artist Vincent Croguennec, currently in residence at Oakland School for the Arts, in

a lively exchange with Oakland-based cultural leaders to discuss the importance of a healthy arts

and culture ecosystem to the common good.

  • Randolph Belle, Executive Director, EVOAK
  •  Vincent Croguennec, an artist from Saint-Denis
  • Mario Hernández, Associate Professor of Sociology/Fletcher Jones Sociology Chair, Mills College at Northeastern University
  •  Leva Zand, Founder and Executive Director, ARTogether
