SF’s Conservatory of Flowers Free First Tuesdays (Golden Gate Park)
Conservatory of Flowers Whether you’re a native San Franciscan, a
visitor from the other side of the world, or a budding botanist, the
Conservatory of Flowers, located in Golden Gate Park, offers an
intimate, up-close experience with nearly 2,000 species of rare,
exotic, and endangered plants from more than 50 different countries.
Opened in 1879, the wood and glass greenhouse is the oldest existing
conservatory of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. Conservatory of
Flowers’ Free Admission Day First Tuesday of Every Month 100 JFK
Dr., Golden Gate Park, San Francisco FREE for everyone Admission is
normally free for SF residents ($12 for non-SF residents), but it’s
free for all visitors on the first Tuesday of every month. The
Conservatory will also continue offering free or reduced admission
through Museums for All, a program to bring free or reduced admission
to San Francisco residents who receive public benefits, including
Medi-Cal and CalFresh. Plus, there’s free admission for Military &
Veterans and children 4 and under. Hours: Thursday-Tuesday 10am –
4:30pm Last entry at 4pm Free Day: First Tuesday of the Month Enjoy
our winter light show, Photosynthesis, beginning 30 minutes after
sunset every night. The show is free to the public and is about 30
minutes long. Closed: Wednesdays for weekly maintenance; 2026 Annual
Maintenance Closure: January 21, 2026-February 4, 2026. Upcoming
