About the Film:

Journalist Yasha Levine investigates a small-town water deal and uncovers the hidden side of California’s health-food industry. At the center is the empire of Stewart and Lynda Resnick — billionaires who dominate California’s pistachio industry and control much of its water. Their desert plantations drain rivers, devastate ecosystems, and leave towns in drought, tying California’s fate to politics and even conflict with Iran. It’s a journey into the dark heart of the American Dream.
