The Pint or the Pinot? Barley or Barolo? Decide which pairing reigns supreme in our first annual Grain and Grape Dinner at Old Skool Cafe. Bayview's own Laughing Monk Brewing and Gratta Wines are going head to head to see who can bring the best pairings to a romantic 4 course dinner designed by the chefs of Old Skool Cafe.
Laughing Monk Founder, Andrew Casteel, and Gratta Wines Founder, Barbara Gratta, will be on site to lead a discussion and make the case grain and grape for each course, but you'll be the ones voting for the best pairing with each course. It's no holds barred in this friendly culinary showdown so you know they'll both be bringing our finest offerings, including the debut of a limited edition Laughing Monk brew only available at this dinner.

Gratta Wines is an urban Garagiste, producing small batch wines in SF's Bayview.  Fruit is sourced from sustainably grown grapes of the Teldeschi Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley.  Through the crush, fermentation, press, barreling and bottling, all is done meticulously for a true hand crafted wine.
