I'm really looking forward to the return of Jazz Nights at the LA
County Museum of Art. The opening night performers will be Bill
HOLMAN'S BIG BAND. Since my father was a sax player in a big band
(Dick Jurgens and his orchestra) I have a nostalgic fondness for this
music.Usually, the band stage is just behind the iconic street lights
at Ogden and Wilshire. I suggest we hang out on the lawn just north of
the "Schmidt Welcome Plaza." Let's share some snacks, and it is also
fine to bring alcoholic beverages in "quantities appropriate for
personal consumption."
