Our mission is to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults. We accomplish this with 3 unique programs. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in young adults, and 1 out of every 10 college students has contemplated suicide. At the Jordan Porco Foundation, our goal is to prevent suicide among the high school and college age student population by increasing awareness, identifying available resources, helping friends and family recognize the warning signs of depression, and encouraging at-risk persons to seek out help. Through our unique programs, we work to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health disorders and help young adults develop life skills, increase help seeking behaviors, and promote social connections.
