TAUGHT BY MARY JANE ARDEN, 18+ $70 Member / $77 Non-member If you can
use scissors you can COLLAGE! COLLAGE IS A DYNAMIC AND EXPRESSIVE ART
FORM THAT UTILIZES EVERYDAY, affordable materials. In this interactive
three-session workshop, students will explore and practice essential
COLLAGE TECHNIQUES. Each session workshop will begin with a mini art
history lesson - introducing participants to influential COLLAGE
ARTISTS, both historical and contemporary. The majority of class time
will be dedicated to creating an in-class COLLAGE PROJECT.
Additionally, students will receive a weekly handout summarizing key
takeaways from the session and providing guidance for an at-home
COLLAGE PROJECT TO FURTHER THEIR PRACTICE. At the end of the course
students will have created three original COLLAGES TO TAKE HOME AND
ENJOY. This is a great mini course for a first-time college artist
Students provide sharp scissors, craft knife, cutting mat or
cardboard, Elmer's Purple glue sticks, 2-3 magazines. The NEWARK ARTS
ALLIANCE WILL RETAIN A $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from
a class. After earning her BFA from the University of Delaware, Mary
Jane spent her career as an exhibit designer at a local museum and a
graphic designer in higher education. In addition to her full-time
career she taught User Centered Design at Wilmington University and
Graphic Design, Computer Graphics and Drawing courses at Delaware
Technical Community College. These days she have two artistic
practices: fabricating primitive sculptures and creating
