NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION REGISTRATION PROCESS
HOW TO REGISTER: All new employees are welcomed to register directly
on this page by clicking "register" and filling out the requested
information. You may register with a personal email address if you do
not have access to your GU NETID. If so, please prepare to bring a
valid ID.
NEXT ORIENTATION: If you cannot attend this orientation, the next
"NEO" can be found on our Eventbrite homepage. However, we encourage
you to attend orientation on your first day to have the most
beneficial experience.
GETTING YOUR NETID/UNIVERSITY INFORMATION SERVICES (UIS)
This is a unique identifier used for email and other electronic
services. You can find your NetID by visiting the GEORGETOWN
UNIVERSITY DIRECTORY AT http://contact.georgetown.edu
[http://contact.georgetown.edu] and entering your name. PLEASE NOTE
THAT YOUR NETID MAY NOT BE ACTIVE PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST DAY OF WORK - DO
NOT WORRY IF THIS IS THE CASE. WE WILL REVIEW STEPS TO ACCESSING YOUR

GETTING YOUR GOCARD
This is GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY'S OFFICIAL EMPLOYEE IDENTIFICATION CARD.
Once your NetID is activated, bring a photo ID to the GOCard Office
(located in the Leavey Center Campus Bookstore as indicated by
the Yellow STAR on the campus map below) to receive a card. This card
allows access to the GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
(GUTS) and the library. It will also regulate access to restricted
buildings and offices. The card may be used as a campus debit card and
to make purchases on campus, which we will discuss at NEO. EMPLOYEES
MAY ELECT TO ENROLL IN THE GOCARD DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM AND RECEIVE A
1% bonus deposit for every payroll deposit. For more information

GETTING TO ORIENTATION (TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS)

ORIENTATION IS LOCATED IN THE HEALEY FAMILY STUDENT CENTER

"HFSC" (14 on provided campus map) Main Campus in Georgetown, on the
corner of Library Walk and Tondorf Rd. You can click on the provided

often confused with Healey Hall (27) but they are different buildings.
GU SHUTTLE BUS: GEORGETOWN OFFERS A FREE shuttle system

Buses run on five routes, connecting the campus with Metro stations

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (RECOMMENDED): GEORGETOWN IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE
VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, such as the DC Circulator GU-Union Station
or Dupont-Rosslyn routes, and the WMATA [https://www.wmata.com/] bus
system. You may use the WMATA trip planner to determine which bus is
most convenient for you.
RIDE-SHARE: Due to campus construction, many of the main roads are
not accessible for ride-sharing such as Uber or Lyft. If you choose to
ride-share, we recommend dropping off at either 1) Reservoir Rd and
37th St, or 2) 37th St and O, where the UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE IS
LOCATED.
DRIVING: Should you choose to drive to campus, please
review parking at Georgetown

at the provided link. Note that the daily visitor rate is $25.00 a day
or $5.00 an hour.
We recommend familiarizing yourself with the walking campus map
provided below. The bright Yellow line represents the current walking
path from Reservoir Rd and 37th St. The red line represents the
walking path from 37th and O St, where the GEORGETOWN ENTRANCE IS
LOCATED. The red STAR represents the Healey Family Student Center, the

YOUR GEORGETOWN BENEFITS
The New Employee Orientation will include an overview of your GU
Benefits. You will need to make certain benefit elections within 60
calendar days of your first day at Georgetown. If you do not, your
next opportunity to enroll will be during Open Enrollment (once
annually during the fall) and benefits will not become effective until
the next calendar year. Employees are encouraged to ask any questions
they might have about their benefits at NEO.
