The Midnight Sun Festival is Alaska’s largest single-day
celebration, taking place each year on June 21 in downtown Fairbanks.
From midday until midnight, the city comes alive as a bustling street
fair with over 30,000 visitors enjoying live music, local food
vendors, artisan markets, and family-friendly activities — all set
beneath the magical glow of the midnight sun. The festival is a lively
celebration of community, culture, and Alaska’s unique phenomenon of
24-hour daylight. Adding to the excitement is the Midnight Sun
Baseball Game, a century-old tradition in which the Alaska Goldpanners
play a game starting around 10:30 PM and continuing into the early
morning, entirely without artificial lighting. This iconic game offers
fans a one-of-a-kind experience, celebrating the summer solstice under
the natural glow of the midnight sun.
