Join volunteer docent Carol Holding for an informative WALKING TOUR OF
OLD AZTEC.The tour begins and ends at the Aztec Museum and Pioneer
Village. The tour covers local downtown history including part of Main
Street and nearby historic neighborhood. Learn about the history of
old Aztec, its buildings and the people who built it. Please arrive 25
minutes prior; tour lasts 75 minutes. Young children should be in
strollers. We encourage you to bring sunscreen and water and to wear
comfortable walking shoes. Guests receive a copy of our “Historic
Aztec Walking and Biking Tour Guide.”
The tour is conducted by Carol Holding, long-time resident of Aztec.
Her interest in the town’s history sprang from living in an historic
house. She taught 4th grade New Mexico history for 20 years in a local
elementary school and shared her self-taught passion with her students
through walking tours of Aztec.
Cost is $10 adults and $6 for youth. Includes museum admission.
