CAREER MODULE: LINE COOK
We are currently recruiting for the CAREER MODULE: LINE COOK targeting
young adults, between the ages of 18 and 24, who are not currently
employed or enrolled in school.
These MODULES WILL HELP CANDIDATES understand the role of a line
cook, understand the ladder for a Line Cook and learn how to apply &
enroll in the upcoming paid training for Line Cooks "First Course"
Eligible candidates between the ages of 18-24 will:
* Understand the role of Line Cook
* Understand the career ladder for a Line Cook
* Learn how to apply and enroll in the upcoming First Course paid
training

FIRST COURSE NYC is a new, 14-week culinary training program that
will provide qualified New Yorkers access to entry-level Line Cook
jobs and a clear PATHWAY TO ADVANCEMENT AND HIGHER WAGES IN
RESPECTED NYC RESTAURANTS. FIRST COURSE START DATE IS MARCH 23, 2020!
THE PROGRAM IS TAUGHT IN 2 PARTS –
* PRE-APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING (8 WEEKS):
You will be taught the fundamental knowledge, culinary skills and job
skills required to be a qualified entry-level Line Cook. _$25
stipend per day_
* ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (6 WEEKS):
You will be hired and continue your culinary training in a respected
NYC restaurant kitchen. _$16 per hour_
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must:
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Be a New York City resident
* Be authorized to work in the United States
* Demonstrate the ability to lift 40 pounds as required in many
kitchens
* Demonstrate the command of math and English language skills
required by the industry
* Be able and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings,
weekends and holidays
* Possess a strong interest in and enthusiasm for working in the
culinary industry
