The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said the BELOVED COMMUNITY WAS A
"realistic, achievable goal that could be attained by a critical mass
of people committed to and trained in the philosophy and methods of
nonviolence." The BELOVED COMMUNITY WAS DR. King's vision for an
inclusive and reconciled COMMUNITY. We gather as a COMMUNITY FROM
MANY DIFFERENT PLACES AND OVER A SHARED MEAL TO EXPLORE THE MANY WAYS
THE BELOVED COMMUNITY CAN BE BROUGHT INTO REALITY IN WESTCHESTER
COUNTY. **This is a Special Beloved Community Dinner gathering! We
will be welcoming the new Coming Home program participants for the
fourth month in a row. Coming Home is a Restorative Communities
Collaborative, bringing community partners together to support
participants through a 24-session program targeted at decreasing
symptoms of trauma while increasing their ability to cope and sense of
support. The Beloved Community Dinners gathering has committed to
welcoming Coming Home participants at our monthly gatherings from
January through their graduation in June, 2018. Please help us be a
place of welcome for these beloved program participants!
