HOST A BREAKFAST AT WOMEN'S CENTER OF WAKE COUNTY:The Women's Center
of Wake County is a multi-service day shelter/resource center, located
near downtown Raleigh, with the mission of preventing and ending
homelessness for women and their families. Each day, homeless women
come to the Women's Center seeking safety, food, day shelter,
clothing, toiletries, medical care, behavioral and mental health care
and more. We serve breakfast each day at 8:00am for up to 25-35
women who might otherwise go hungry. You can help by providing a
healthy breakfast for women who need it most.
Volunteer(s) would need to either drop off breakfast between 7:30am
and 8am or arrive at 7:45am to set up and breakfast will begin at
8:00am. We serve 25-35 women each day at the shelter, so please
prepare for 35 and know that there may be days with leftovers. We do
not have a stove/oven on site. We do have a small kitchen were items
may be cut or microwaved. But, it is best to bring prepared food in
containers ready to serve and heated, if necessary.
