We are a locally funded center where older adults can congregate to fulfill many of their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. Mission: The Redmond Senior Center is a central place for services and activities for our community. Its primary purpose is to enhance the lives of older adults by offering: Health and Social Services Educational Programs Recreational Activities Nutrition Program Health and Social Services: The Senior Center has a Wellness and Exercise Room with numerous pieces of equipment available to use at little or no cost. The Center also cooperates with the local hospital, college and other organizations in promoting wellness and health related programs of interest to seniors and our community. The Center maintains current information about services available in the Redmond area and can easily direct people to the proper agency as needed. Educational and Recreational: Numerous activities and social opportunities are offered throughout each month to promote personal enrichment and education. For some there is a $1 charge. Also there is a Membership fee for everyone using the Center on a regular basis of $5 a year per person. Nutrition: Hot lunches are served at the Senior Center every weekday at noon by the Cascades West Council of Governments Senior Meals Program. A $3.50 per meal donation is suggested and walk-ins are welcome. The Meals on Wheels Program for Redmond is also housed here at the Senior Center. For more information, please call 541-548-6325. Transportation: Dial-a-Bus is a curb-to-curb transportation service for seniors, people with disabilities, and the general public. Please call 541-385-8680 for detailed information about this city wide program throughout the City of Redmond, Madras, Sisters, Prineville, Metolius and Culver. Library: There is a Library located inside the Center and is open 9am-3:30pm during operating hours. Our Library is solely dependent upon volunteers and donations. Funds generated are used to further community wide reading programs. Music: We have live music you can dance to or just come and listen, on Monday and Friday mornings from 10:30am to 11:45am. It is Old classic country in honor of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Hank Thompson, and singers like those. Please come and listen or dance.
