_ART, FOOD, AND IDENTITY IN THE AGE OF IMPRESSIONISM_ ”
REBECCA ALBIANI
is an art historian and a beloved, long-time lecturer at VCA. Rebecca
also lectures at the Frye Art Museum and other respected art
institutions. Rebecca was a Fulbright Scholar in Venice and received a
B.A. in Art History from U.C. Berkely and an M.A. from Stanford.
Rebecca will introduce the exhibition _FARM TO TABLE: ART, FOOD, AND
IDENTITY IN THE AGE OF IMPRESSIONISM_ ,
on view at Seattle Art Museum (through January 26). In the late 19th
century, Paris was the capital of both the art world and the
gastronomic world. Works by artists including Claude Monet, Camille
Pissarro, and William Bouguereau will showcase the cultivation,
preparation, and consumption of foodstuffs in scenes ranging from
market gardens to glittering restaurants
